From A-town to Gay-town

So this is quite professional--a site of our very own! I am already impressed that I have been able to post a message (joining the coveted ranks of Tali and Ashley) considering the fact that I am technologically handicapped. Things are still going well here, but everything is pretty quiet. I don't feel overwhelmed yet because so far I have had all the time in the world to study-even if there is a lot of work. Maybe once I get a social life that will change.
Anyway, I have been running around in Isabelle for the past week. How dangerous. But seriously it sucks ass in college walking in the rain. no fun. I don't even want to think about when the New England 8 mo. winter is going to come around.
Please tell me why I am not in a school where it is warm and where there are boys?
I went hiking yesterday because it was mountain day (a surprise day off of classes). It was nice to get out of the bubble that is college. I didn't really realize how much of a parallel universe my life for the past month has been until I got out.
But anyway my lovely ladies-- hope to hear from you soon. Keep in mind that no boys are allowed so... think of all the juicy things we can talk about. ha! Way for us all to be five year olds! So cute.
I LOVE IT!

Tali Rocks....and you all can too!

Way to be proactive Tali dear, it's good to see I'm no longer blogging myself (hehehe....I like how dirty that sounds). So everyone should follow suite, and as Tali suggests, write write write! Chagnot joined earlier today, and is sorting through the technical aspects of posting, but will be joining Tali and I momentarily.

I should clarify: There's a difference between writing text and clicking the "post" button, which saves your message, and clicking the "post & publish" button. In order to publish a message to the page, you'll want to hit the "post & publish" button. Hope this clears up any confusion. If you're not confused and I'm still not seeing blogging this weekend, well, you'd better be trapped under something heavy because there's just simply no other justifiable excuse.

another hot idea from ashley, eh? you'd all better use this if you know what's good and mighty. right now, the weekend's descended on my schedule and it's all fun/games from here out. the semester's been enjoyable thusfar. five-course load consisting of english/american satire, anthro, history, music theory, & political theory. throw in some dining hall wenching, commonsense magazine (cs-journal.org) and club basketball for healthy exercise. i'm trying to put together a website, so hopefully there'll be some nice pictures of you all soon: www.forbesaddition.org/tali

my fall break is the week before and the weekend of the halloween block party back home. anyone going to be around? thanksgiving & winter break i'll be there, too.

anyone/everyone please visit if you're in the area. i'll be up boston way in later november for a concert, so you girls up there, soon enough.

again, write write write.

One more thing...

P.S.....if I've forgotten to include someone integral to the group, I apologize; it was fairly late at night when I hatched this cockneyed idea. So if there's anyone that you feel should be involved, just email them the link to the website, or email me and I'll send a blogger invitation. Also, if you'll look to the left, I've created a link for each chica, so if you'd like to add or change your link, just post it or email me the URL.

I want this blog to be as much of a collaborative effort as possible, so please please please feel free to make suggestions, assert criticisms, and propose changes. My AIM screen name is AshMaster003 (Cheesy, I know, but fitting somehow...), so add me to your buddy list if I'm not on it already. Being the nerd I am, email is a great way to contact me, and a link is provided on the left-hand side. If for some reason your browser limits frames and you find yourself asking, "Left side? What the hell is she talking about?" my email is asarver@bu.edu, which is ultimately fowarded to ajsarver@operamail.com.

Oh, and I wanted to gauge your feedback.......should we have a separate linked section for email addresses or AIM screennames? And should we have a phone & mailing address listing or anything along those lines? Something to think about anyway.

Welcome to our blog....hopefully this will be a hit....

Hey gals, it's Ashley; I miss you all, and love you all very, very much. Inspired by the quasi-web ring-style email letter we had begun to circulate (thanks Bonnie & Drue for getting the ball rolling), I thought the next organic move was to create a blog for us to share, as a means of keeping in touch, staying involved in one another's lives, and recording our collegiate misdeeds, mishaps and misadventures for posterity. Because we cannot share a tangible common room, think of this as our virtual campus, no shower sandals required (unless you feel compelled, I suppose, to wear them while typing.....weirdo).

As the first "blogger" on our nerd-tastic site, I feel I should mention my hopes for this venture. Anytime you reminisce about your days spent as an Athens girl, don't simply gaze into the distance longingly (or drink like a fish), blog it instead! Sport that hometown pride; after all, a lifetime spent enduring the "townie" status should not pass by the wayside in vain. Anything from a simple hello, an incoherent babbling, an inside joke (not everyone has to get it), or even a long and winding piece of prose--all are welcome here, share them will your fellow Athenian hotties.

One note: Let's keep this blog small, however; exclusive to the girls who have exchanged stories (and bites) at Union Street, stollen away to the Front Room mid-day to rant about the good 'ol AHS, and laughed until we cried during Donna's infamous (insert miscellaneous cheesy televised award show) parties. You know who you are. Oh, and NO BOYS ALLOWED (I always wanted to have a "no boys" club......had to wait 'till college......life is zainy like that).

So let's get the show on the road........
